Binance Holdings Ltd. has appointed its first seven-member board of directors, including three independent directors and four internal executives. Gabriel Abed, who previously served as Barbados' ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, has been appointed chairman of the board, along with chief executive Richard Teng and three other company executives Heina Chen, Jinkai He and Lilai Wang.
The other two outside members are Arnaud Ventura, managing partner at investment firm Gojo & Co, and Xin Wang, chief executive of Bayview Acquisition Corp. The appointments took effect on March 7, according to the Abu Dhabi Global Market website.
Chen, He, and Wang were among Binance’s earliest employees and were appointed to the founding team. Chen is currently an executive and co-founder of Binance, and Wang is responsible for Binance’s technology development, according to a spokesperson. He leads several key departments of Binance, including fiat deposits and withdrawals. (Bloomberg)
