St. Jude Children's Research Hospital recently completed the sale of ASTEROID tokens, initially received as a donation. According to Odaily, Marc, the head of crypto donations at the hospital, stated that the donation, amounting to 0.5% of ASTEROID's total supply, was received approximately two years ago. However, due to a lack of compliant exchange channels at the time, the assets remained in an on-chain wallet.
As ASTEROID's market value increased from around $20,000 to over $150 million, the hospital's holdings were valued between $500,000 and $1 million. To prevent impacting community liquidity, the hospital sold the holdings in 12 batches over two days, continuously monitoring liquidity throughout the process.
Marc reported that the sale resulted in over 290 ETH, valued at approximately $676,000. The funds will support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's efforts in treating and researching children's diseases.
