Twenty-two bitcoins held by the Gangnam Police Station in South Korea have been confirmed to have been transferred out of the country, worth approximately 2.1 billion won at current prices. These bitcoins were voluntarily submitted assets received by police during an investigation in 2021. The investigation revealed that the physical cold wallet was not stolen, but the assets within it were transferred out. Law enforcement agencies are investigating the flow of these bitcoins and the possibility of insider involvement. This discovery reportedly occurred during a nationwide search following the disclosure of the theft of 320 bitcoins by the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office. (Donga)
