Trump Media Pushes Into AI With ‘Non-Woke’ Tools For Truth Social
Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the company behind Truth Social and controlled by President Donald Trump’s family, is preparing to introduce artificial intelligence to its social media platform.
Two new trademarks — “Truth Social AI” and “Truth Social AI Search” — were recently filed, revealing a push to embed AI tools across the platform’s iOS, Android, and web versions.
According to CEO and Chairman Devin Nunes, the goal is to turn Truth Social into a go-to destination for “reliable information, non-woke news, and entertainment” by using AI-powered features.
The move reflects a broader attempt to tailor the platform’s content to a politically conservative user base while competing with mainstream tech platforms.
A Rally On Wall Street Despite Losses
The announcement sparked a 5.5% surge in TMTG shares on Wednesday, outpacing the broader Nasdaq index.
The boost came in spite of disappointing financials: TMTG posted a net loss of $31.7 million for Q1 2025 on revenue of $8.8 million.
While the user base of Truth Social remains relatively modest — reported at 6.3 million as of January — the company continues to present itself as a digital stronghold for like-minded users, with ambitions extending far beyond social media.
Crypto Blue Chip ETF And Digital Expansion
Beyond AI, Trump Media is also venturing into the crypto investment space.
A new SEC filing outlines plans for the “Crypto Blue Chip ETF,” which will include assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, and Cronos.
The fund will reportedly allocate nearly 75% of its holdings to Bitcoin.
This follows earlier trademark filings for cryptocurrency trading and payments services, suggesting a wider digital asset strategy is taking shape.
Trump-linked company DTTM Operations previously filed trademarks tied to a metaverse concept carrying the Trump name.
Streaming, Search, And Algorithms In The Spotlight
The company has also started rolling out a streaming service, Truth+, which entered beta testing in late June and is expected to receive ongoing updates based on user feedback.
These services are intended to create a media environment where users can consume, search, and interact within a single ecosystem.
Nunes said the integration of AI is a “big push forward” in expanding the Truth Social environment, positioning the platform as a digital counterweight to what he calls the “woke” culture of other tech companies.
That term has stirred wider controversy.
Elon Musk, for example, recently vowed to overhaul his AI chatbot Grok after users complained it leaned too progressive — resulting in a bizarre rebrand where it jokingly called itself “MechaHitler.”
Such events illustrate the unpredictable outcomes when ideology meets algorithms.
Big Vision, Small Base
While Truth Social’s reach remains limited compared to giants like Facebook — which boasted over 3.1 billion monthly active users last year — the ambition is clear: TMTG is building an alternative online universe with its own social media, streaming content, AI tools, and financial products.
But with high burn rates, volatile stock performance, and scrutiny over its tech ambitions, questions linger over whether TMTG can scale its offerings to meet its grand vision.
Blurring The Lines Between Politics, Tech And Profit
The latest wave of initiatives suggests TMTG is not just a media company — it’s a political content engine wrapped in a tech startup.
With AI now in the mix, the strategy seems aimed at algorithmically reinforcing a worldview rather than just entertaining or informing.
Whether that attracts loyal users or fuels polarisation remains to be seen — but it’s clear the tech isn’t neutral, and neither is the platform building it.
