Crypto Influencer BitBoy Arrested Again Amid Growing List of Legal Troubles
Ben Armstrong, widely known in crypto circles as “BitBoy,” was arrested once again late last month in Georgia, marking another chapter in his ongoing legal saga.
The 41-year-old influencer was taken into custody in the early hours of 27 June in Cherokee County and charged with six counts related to harassing phone calls.
Public jail booking records obtained via the VINE network confirm the arrest, while a mugshot was later published by The Georgia Gazette.

Repeated Run-Ins With The Law
This isn’t Armstrong’s first brush with the law in recent months.
Back in March, he was arrested in Volusia County, Florida, in connection with a fugitive warrant stemming from allegations that he had sent threatening emails to a judge.
Interestingly, Armstrong had publicly referenced the Florida warrant on X just days before the arrest, drawing attention to his situation before authorities acted.
Armstrong’s troubles stretch further back.
In September 2023, he live-streamed himself outside the home of a former business partner, alleging the individual had stolen his Lamborghini.
That stunt led to another arrest, adding to a string of incidents that have increasingly overshadowed his crypto persona.
Regulators, Tokens And The Fallout Of Fame
Armstrong’s influence in the crypto world has not shielded him from scrutiny.
In July 2023, the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) issued a subpoena to Hit Network, a media outlet closely linked to Armstrong at the time.
During his tenure there, he promoted numerous digital assets—including the memecoin BEN—that later experienced significant value drops.
As his promotional activities came under fire, Armstrong also found himself entangled in civil disputes.
He previously filed a defamation suit against content creator Atozy, but later withdrew it after public backlash.
And in April 2023, a judge reportedly called him out for harassing an opposing lawyer in a separate class-action lawsuit.
The Bigger Question Facing The Crypto World
Armstrong’s mounting legal issues raise deeper questions about accountability in crypto’s influencer culture.
As some personalities blur the line between entertainment, financial advice and personal branding, public trust continues to erode.
While Armstrong may have been a prominent voice during the bull runs, his string of controversies now risks defining his legacy.
In an industry still battling for legitimacy, the rise and fall of figures like BitBoy offer a cautionary tale worth watching.
