Web3 Transforming Global Education
The rise of Web3 is no longer confined to fundraising and asset tokenization—it’s now reshaping educational priorities for major international institutions.
In a landmark move, Bitget and UNICEF Luxembourg have announced a three-year partnership to equip 300,000 young people—primarily girls—with essential digital and blockchain skills across eight countries, marking a pivotal shift in how blockchain technology is leveraged for social good.
Bridging the Gender Digital Divide
Launched on June 16, 2025, as part of UNICEF’s Game Changers Coalition, the initiative targets Armenia, Brazil, Cambodia, India, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Morocco, and South Africa.
The program is not limited to students; parents, teachers, and mentors are also included, reflecting a holistic approach to closing the persistent gender gap in digital access.
According to UNICEF, adolescent girls in low- and middle-income countries lose an estimated $15 billion in economic opportunities each year due to limited access to technology and digital skills.
Sandra Visscher, Executive Director of UNICEF Luxembourg, emphasized
“This partnership reflects our shared belief that digital skills are a powerful driver of opportunity and inclusion. By collaborating with Bitget, we want to provide adolescents and young people with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to shape their own futures.”
The educational program, developed by Bitget Academy—Bitget’s educational arm—will introduce UNICEF’s first blockchain training module, blending online and in-person workshops with hands-on video game creation.
This gamified, interactive approach is designed to keep young learners engaged and make complex blockchain concepts accessible and practical.
The initiative will also tap into the expertise of leading Web3 developers and blockchain protocols, bringing qualified mentors into the classroom to enrich the learning experience and ensure that the curriculum remains relevant to the fast-evolving digital landscape.
Blockchain4Her: Empowering the Next Generation
A cornerstone of the partnership is Bitget’s Blockchain4Her initiative, backed by a $10 million fund dedicated to promoting digital and economic empowerment for girls and young women.
Blockchain4Her provides mentorship, targeted educational resources, and early-age blockchain training, aiming to reach 1.1 million girls globally by 2027 as part of the broader Game Changers Coalition.
Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget, highlighted the transformative potential
“Blockchain is one of the most powerful tools we can give to our younger generation to build products that change the way we look at modern society. What started as a mission for hundreds of women has become a global movement.”
The Bitget-UNICEF partnership is designed to be scalable and locally adaptable, with each participating country receiving tailored modules suited to its specific needs.
By combining online courses, in-person workshops, and mentorship from Web3 leaders, the program aims to create a sustainable model for digital inclusion and financial independence.
Setting a New Standard for Web3 Social Impact
This collaboration is not Bitget’s first foray into social good. The company has previously supported women in blockchain through awards, pitch competitions, and incubation programs.
UNICEF, for its part, has experimented with Web3 tools such as NFTs for fundraising, demonstrating a willingness to integrate innovative technologies into its global mission.
As the partnership unfolds, Bitget and UNICEF are setting a new standard for how blockchain and Web3 can be harnessed to drive digital inclusion, gender equality, and economic opportunity on a global scale.
