U.S. Treasury Revises Fourth Quarter Borrowing Estimate

According to BlockBeats, the U.S. Treasury Department has announced its revised borrowing estimate for the fourth quarter, projecting a total of $569 billion. This figure represents a decrease of $21 billion from the July estimate, primarily due to a higher cash balance at the beginning of the quarter, which was partially offset by lower expected net cash flows. Excluding the higher-than-expected initial cash balance, the borrowing estimate for the quarter is $20 billion higher than the July figures. Assuming a cash balance of $850 billion by the end of March next year, the Treasury anticipates financing $578 billion in privately held net marketable debt from January to March 2026.
