Citibank Plans to Launch Crypto Custody Services by 2026

According to BlockBeats, Citibank is planning to introduce cryptocurrency custody services by 2026, as reported by CNBC. A senior executive from the bank highlighted this development in an interview, indicating the growing interest of Wall Street giants in the digital currency sector. This move underscores the accelerated entry of traditional financial institutions into the cryptocurrency market. Biswarup Chatterjee, Citibank's Global Head of Partnerships and Innovation for Services, stated that the bank has been working on developing crypto custody services over the past two to three years and has made significant progress. Chatterjee mentioned, "We are exploring multiple avenues and hope to launch a reliable custody solution for our asset management clients and other institutional clients in the coming quarters."
