Users can now send reactions in the form of "Stars," an off-chain currency linked to TON, to creators and channels on Telegram.
These Stars can be converted into Toncoin or used to pay for advertising within the app.
Telegram assures that creators will retain 100% of the Stars they receive, providing them with a new revenue stream.
The introduction of Stars, which users must purchase through a paid reaction function, aims to enhance engagement on the platform.
By integrating cryptocurrency into everyday interactions, Telegram continues to position itself as a forward-thinking, crypto-friendly environment for its nearly 1 billion users.
The Open Network, which originally began as a Telegram project, has gained significant traction since its separation from the company in 2020.
Although Telegram no longer runs the network, it has increasingly integrated TON into its platform, particularly in relation to advertising.
Toncoin is currently the eighth-largest digital asset, with a market cap of $16.98 billion and a price of $6.74, reflecting a 20.32% increase in the past seven day.
