ChatGPT Lets Users Look Back at Their Year With Personalised Review
ChatGPT is joining the growing trend of year-end digital recaps with a new feature called “Your Year with ChatGPT,” offering users a personalised reflection on how they interacted with the AI throughout 2025.
The experience draws clear inspiration from Spotify Wrapped, combining playful visuals with insights tailored to each user’s activity on the platform.
Who Can Access Your Year With ChatGPT
The feature is rolling out to users in select English-speaking markets, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
It is available for those on the Free, Plus, and Pro plans who have enabled both “reference saved memories” and “reference chat history,” and have met a minimum activity threshold throughout the year.
Team, Enterprise, and Education accounts are excluded from the rollout.
OpenAI emphasises that the experience is “lightweight, privacy-forward, and user-controlled,” ensuring users can opt in at their discretion.
While the review will appear on the ChatGPT app’s home screen, it will not launch automatically, allowing users to trigger it manually by asking for “Your Year with ChatGPT.”
What the Feature Includes and How It Works
Much like other annual recaps, the feature highlights key themes and trends in individual user activity.
Users are presented with a series of playful awards reflecting their interaction patterns.
For example, those who frequently worked through problems or explored creative ideas may receive a title such as “Creative Debugger.”
Beyond awards, the feature generates a personalised poem and an image inspired by the topics users engaged with most during the year.
The visuals and content are designed to provide a reflective and entertaining snapshot of how ChatGPT was used in daily work, learning, or creative routines.
Following the Trend of Year-End Recaps
OpenAI joins a long list of tech companies offering similar year-end experiences.
Spotify Wrapped remains the most widely recognised, with users often sharing their results on social media, while Google, Apple Music, YouTube, PlayStation, and Steam have also introduced their own annual reviews.
A Year of Changes for OpenAI
The launch of “Your Year with ChatGPT” comes after a turbulent year for OpenAI.
The company released GPT-5, which received mixed feedback, and introduced GPT-OSS, its locally run open weights model.
OpenAI also secured significant infrastructure deals with Oracle, Nvidia, and AMD, lifting its valuation to $830 billion, and formally transitioned from a public benefit-style organisation to a privately held company.
At the same time, OpenAI faces growing competition from Google’s AI initiatives, including the launch of Gemini 3, while investors remain attentive to the company’s cash burn and broader AI market trends.
Where and How Users Can Access the Review
The experience is available on both the ChatGPT web and mobile apps for iOS and Android.
Users must ensure their app is updated to access the review, which appears in a visually engaging interface summarising the year’s activity, awards, and creative outputs.
This new feature offers users a playful, personalised way to reflect on their year while interacting with one of the most widely used AI platforms globally.
