Luxury Car Buyers Can Now Pay in Crypto Through Lyzi
French fintech Lyzi has expanded the reach of cryptocurrency payments into the high-end automotive market, partnering with Porsche Centre Montpellier and Lamborghini Bordeaux.
Customers can now purchase vehicles using Bitcoin, Tez, stablecoins such as EURC and USDC, and more than 80 other digital assets.
Payments are instantly converted into euros, shielding dealerships from price volatility while delivering a seamless wallet-to-terminal experience.
Jean-Pierre Launay, director of Porsche Centre Montpellier, said,
“We wanted to offer our customers a purchasing experience that meets their standards, while integrating new financial practices. With Lyzi, we combine innovation, performance, and simplicity.”
Similarly, Thomas Hecquet, director at Lamborghini Centre Bordeaux, added,
“For our clientele who appreciate both Italian craftsmanship and digital innovation, accepting cryptocurrency is simply another expression of exceptional service and exclusive access to the extraordinary.”
How Lyzi Bridges Luxury Retail and Crypto Payments
Lyzi’s infrastructure allows high-ticket purchases to be handled with the same ease as card transactions.
Customers pay directly from their digital wallets, while dealers receive guaranteed euro settlement, avoiding exposure to cryptocurrency fluctuations.
Damien Patureaux, CEO of Lyzi, highlighted the company’s mission:
“Collaborating with iconic players like Porsche and Lamborghini, alongside humanitarian organizations like Doctors of the World, proves that crypto payments are no longer a trend but a reality. We’re making cryptocurrency payments as simple as card payments while opening new possibilities for global giving.”
The move comes as European regulations for crypto payments mature, with MiCA and stablecoin frameworks providing a clearer environment for businesses to explore digital asset transactions.
For luxury dealerships, this also aligns with their customer base, which tends to be globally mobile, tech-forward, and comfortable with alternative payment rails.
Can Crypto Transform Humanitarian Giving
Lyzi is also extending its platform into charitable donations.
Partnering with Doctors of the World, the fintech firm has launched a cryptocurrency donation solution supporting nearly 400 programmes across 80 countries.
Guillaume Cotillard, director of communication and development at Doctors of the World, said,
“With a crypto market now regulated within the EU, we decided to launch this crypto donation experiment to better understand these new uses and their funding potential for the coming years.”
The initiative allows donors worldwide to contribute using digital assets while ensuring compliance and ethical fundraising standards.
The collaboration demonstrates blockchain’s potential to diversify funding streams for NGOs while providing secure and transparent transactions.
Lyzi’s Growth and Market Position
Since raising €1.3 million in April 2025 from investors including Christopher Grilhault des Fontaines, NYX Venture Singapore, and Jean-Luc Bernard, Lyzi has expanded to over 800,000 connected payment terminals across Europe.
The company has previously partnered with luxury brands such as Smeg, Société des Bains de Mer de Monaco, and S.T. Dupont, signalling its focus on premium retail.
High-profile automotive partnerships reinforce this strategy, showing that luxury purchases can be easily integrated into crypto payment flows.
The startup has also drawn on Tezos’ blockchain advantages, including low transaction fees, strong security, and energy efficiency—qualities appealing to both merchants and regulators.
David Relkin, Head of DeFi at Nomadic Labs, emphasised the choice of Tezos, noting it ensures rapid settlement and robust security essential for modern payment infrastructure.
Why Luxury Retail Is Turning to Crypto Payments
The adoption of cryptocurrency in high-end retail reflects a broader trend across Europe, where regulated digital assets are gaining acceptance.
Customers increasingly expect seamless experiences and alternative payment options.
For brands like Porsche and Lamborghini, offering crypto payments is both a practical tool and a statement of innovation, aligning with the preferences of their tech-savvy, global clientele.
At the same time, Lyzi’s expansion into humanitarian finance shows the versatility of crypto beyond consumer retail, offering NGOs a stable, compliant, and accessible channel for international contributions.
With plans to roll out its solution internationally in 2026, Lyzi aims to normalise cryptocurrency payments across sectors, making them as familiar and convenient as traditional card transactions.
