Yesterday’s article shared with you the signs of airdrops and some typical projects starting from last year. ("Airdrop Opportunities Worth Our Attention (1)")
Based on the characteristics of the projects that have been airdropped or have announced airdrops, I guess that the subdivided tracks that will have a high probability of airdrops in the next bull market include the following:
1. Ethereum’s second Layer Scaling
Ethereum’s Cancun upgrade is coming. By then, the competition for the second-layer extension of Ethereum will definitely become more intense, because the successful launch of Blast and ZKFair has given many project parties a powerful weapon to compete with old projects.
So I believe there will be more new second-tier extension projects emerging by then. For those projects that want to compete, I don’t see any better way to start the project than through airdrops. And their airdrop method is likely to follow Blast or ZKFair.
Therefore, if we want to seize the opportunity here, we can try to do it on the current second-tier expansion projects (focusing on projects that have not issued coins, but we cannot ignore projects that have issued coins) operate.
The advantages of this operation are:
First, we can still strive to get airdrops on projects that have not issued coins.
Second, even if we don’t get airdrops from the project itself, we may still get airdrops from subsequent new projects. Because it is very likely that the airdrop standard for new projects will follow the example of ZKFair to see whether we have operated on the existing second-layer extension.
2. DeFi project
Based on the current trend, the main battlefield of DeFi in the future will most likely shift to the second layer expansion of Ethereum, and the competition will be quite fierce. If you want to rise quickly among many projects, I can't see any other better way than relying on airdrops to gain popularity. Therefore, the volume of airdrops on this track will not be small in the future.
Therefore, we can try to operate the DeFi projects on the major second-tier extensions, especially those projects with high TVL or those that have explicitly stated that they will issue airdrops.
This operation can be performed together with the second-layer extension operation.
3. Games
This type of project is currently mainly in the Ethereum ecosystem, including projects on the Ethereum main network, as well as projects in the second layer extension or side chain.
There are currently two main airdrop methods for this type of project:
One is to airdrop to holders of the project NFT.
The second is to conduct airdrops based on the player’s level of participation in the game.
To participate in airdrops in this field, retail investors must either spend money to buy NFT, or invest time and energy in playing games. This can only be determined based on personal circumstances.
4. DA Blockchain
Although Celestia and Dymension have already appeared, I believe that there are more than these two projects on this track, and new projects will appear.
To seize the airdrop of new projects, we can start from two aspects:
First, operate on the existing second-layer extension of Ethereum
Second, if you already have TIA users, don’t sell them. Put TIA to the verifier for mortgage. In the future, when Dymension is short, do not sell it, but mortgage it.
In addition, if players have strong risk resistance and strong funds, they can directly buy TIA or ATOM (COSMOS token) for mortgage operations.
5. Cross-chain projects
There are two types of cross-chain projects: one is projects spanning different blockchain main chains; the other is extending across the second layer s project.
I have never been interested in the first type of projects, but these projects are now airdropping to users in the Ethereum ecosystem in order to increase their popularity.
I have always paid more attention to the second type of projects. However, there are not many such projects currently, and one @Owlto_Finance seems to be more active.
I feel that this type of application is not used very frequently, so I don’t recommend using it specifically for the purpose of harvesting wool. Instead, you can just try the operation when you encounter the scene you need.
6. Inscription ecology
The current general trend of inscription ecology is to develop in the direction of application. But for an application project to be launched, it needs to quickly attract popularity in a short period of time. Now it seems that in order to quickly gain popularity, more and more projects will directly airdrop to the top token holders of the Inscription Ecosystem. This phenomenon is quite obvious in the inscription ecology of Bitcoin and Ethereum.
So in order to seize the opportunity here, our operation is simple: if you hold the top token, just keep holding it.
If you do not currently hold the top token, whether it is worth buying the top token at this price specifically for this purpose depends on your personal risk-resistance ability.
What I have summarized above are some of the larger airdrop areas, leaving other subdivisions for everyone to explore on their own.
For airdrops, dedicated studios have begun to automate operations in the past few years, and this situation was especially true last year.
I used to think that compared with these studios, we retail investors now have basically no chance of airdrops. But based on my experience in the past few months, I feel that retail investors still have opportunities, and the opportunities may be considerable, because there are still a large number of projects that do not require much interaction, and do not require too much money and time.
For us retail investors, if we want to seize the airdrop opportunity, we can use our time, energy and financial resources to select one or two accounts to find a segmented track that we are particularly familiar with and like, and specialize in Go work on some projects. Of course, if time, energy and financial resources are limited, then it is also a good choice for us to concentrate on holding Bitcoin and Ethereum and ignore these airdrops.
Where can we find these potential airdrop projects? There is a great account on Twitter: Airdrop Official@its_airdrop. This account will often send airdrop information for some projects. Readers who hope to find opportunities in airdrops can follow this account to find more detailed information about airdrops for various projects.
In addition, we must pay attention to this: Although the next airdrop is a big opportunity, hackers are also eyeing this "opportunity". Therefore, when we operate to receive airdrops, we should try our best to verify a project from multiple parties and confirm that a certain project is indeed a genuine project before proceeding to the official website. Do not click on so-called airdrop information at will to avoid phishing attacks by hackers.
