Tether CEO Paolo Ardoino stated that Tether purchased 8,888 bitcoins on New Year's Eve 2025, worth approximately $780 million. This transaction brought the stablecoin issuer's publicly disclosed bitcoin holdings to over 96,000. Tether currently allocates 15% of its quarterly profits regularly to bitcoin. Furthermore, Tether purchased 26 tons of gold in the third quarter of 2025, bringing its total gold holdings to 116 tons, ranking it among the top 30 gold holders globally. Paolo Ardoino stated that a portion of Tether's bitcoin holdings has been injected into its backed joint venture, Twenty One Capital, which held 43,514 bitcoins as of January 1, 2026. Currently, Tether's main bitcoin address ranks fifth globally and second among private corporate treasuries.
