This position is at the ministerial level and is responsible for coordinating the direction of national policies. Kim Yong-beom was formerly the Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Moon Jae-in government and has extensive experience in macroeconomics and regulation.
According to Hashed CEO Simon Kim, this move shows that the Lee Jae-myung government is friendly to cryptocurrencies and plans to promote stablecoins denominated in Korean won to prevent the outflow of national wealth.
