Section 301 refers to the entire content of Sections 1301-1310 of the Comprehensive Trade and Competitiveness Act of 1988. Its main meaning is to protect the rights of the United States in international trade and retaliate against other countries whose trade practices are considered "unreasonable" and "unfair". According to this provision, the United States can investigate the trade practices of other countries that it considers to be "unfair", and can consult with the governments of the relevant countries.
