According to CoinDesk, the Central Bank of Turkey plans to launch a central bank digital currency (CBDC) in 2023 and will cooperate with other banks to conduct research and development work and testing of its CBDC. The responsible agency is the Turkish Central Bank, which plans to work with the local Ministry of Finance and Scientific and Technological Research Institutions to "integrate the digital Turkish lira system with digital identities and FAST, the payment system operated by the Turkish Central Bank."
