On April 10, at the Sui Basecamp event in Paris, Mysten Labs co-founder and CPO Adeniyi Abiodun gave a speech on the theme of "Capturing Alpha Opportunities on Sui".
Adeniyi said that 2024 will be a year of great breakthrough for Web3 games, and players will gradually blur the distinction between "Web3 games" and "games". Games are crucial to the mass adoption of Web3 and will bring one billion users to Sui. After obtaining game tokens, these new players will gradually come into contact with and experience various DeFi activities such as swaps and staking.
Sui's outstanding performance includes 0 security incidents, 100% online rate, 297,000 TPS, AWS-like support for elastic expansion, 450 milliseconds end-to-end latency in the test environment, and lower gas fees than other chains (about $430 mint cost for 100,000 NFTs). In addition, Sui also supports dynamic NFT and Nestable NFT, and provides seamless gaming experience through technologies such as zkLogin, hoping to become the preferred underlying public chain for game developers.
Adeniyi released SuiPlayOX1 at the event, the first Web3 game console supported by Sui, which has OS-level Sui integration, supports games on Sui and Web2 games, and can seamlessly bridge other ecological assets. Partner Playtron CEO Kirt McMaster also took the stage to briefly introduce SuiPlayOX1, and hoped that this release would be the "iPhone moment" of Web3 games.
