OpenAI responded to a lawsuit previously filed by Elon Musk on Tuesday. OpenAI responded that Musk launched the attack because he failed in his attempt to incorporate OpenAI into Tesla.
OpenAI points out that building artificial general intelligence (AGI) will require far more resources than we initially thought, and both the company and Musk realized that to access those resources, building a for-profit entity would be necessary.
OpenAI further stated that Musk and the company agree that realizing the original intention of the company's founding, enabling everyone to benefit from the results of artificial intelligence, and benefiting mankind by building widely available AI tools does not mean making AGI open source.
According to previous news, OpenAI has issued an internal memo to employees, which stated that it "firmly disagrees" with Elon Musk's lawsuit against it and pointed out that Elon Musk is no longer involved in company affairs. Additionally, OpenAI chief strategy officer Jason Kwon also refuted Elon Musk’s claim that the company is a “Microsoft subsidiary.”
