South Korea's Web3 social music service Somesing announced that the platform suffered a vulnerability attack last Saturday and lost 730 million native tokens SSX, approximately US$11.58 million, including 504 million undistributed SSX tokens. The coins are planned to be circulated before the end of 2025, as well as the 226 million SSX held by the Somesing Foundation, which are already part of its current circulation.
Somesing said: "It has been confirmed that this hacking incident has nothing to do with any member of the Somesing team. Considering the attack method, it may have been carried out by professional hackers who specialize in attacking virtual assets." The platform has reported the hacker to the National Police Agency The incident will be investigated and Interpol will be notified.
Somesing is also tracking the attackers with the help of local blockchain entity Klaytn Foundation and Interpol partner Uppsala Security. Somesing said it would freeze relevant assets and take legal action if the culprits were identified. (The Block)
