The chief executives of major U.S. banks, including Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Citigroup, attended a meeting of the House Banking Committee, The Block reported. When asked by Rep. Brad Sherman whether they would fund cryptocurrency mining, the CEOs of all three banks said they would not fund cryptocurrency mining or have no such plans. Brad Sherman, who chairs the Investor Protection, Entrepreneurship and Capital Markets subcommittee, has previously urged regulators to step up investigations into digital asset exchanges and suggested an outright ban on openness to cryptocurrencies.
