Bitcoin-friendly Miami Mayor Francis Suarez has filed with the U.S. Federal Election Commission to run for president of the United States, CoinDesk reported. Foresight News previously reported that Suarez had previously accepted salary in the form of 100 million bitcoins, and had launched the Miami city token MiamiCoin (MIA), which can be purchased by any individual who wants to support the city and obtain encryption benefits from the Stacks protocol. Funds will be used to fund programs and events in the city.
