Odaily Planet Daily News The French Financial Market Authority (AMF) announced that France is revising the registration requirements for cryptocurrency companies to better comply with the new EU MiCA regulations on the industry.
The AMF said "enhanced" registration requirements will come into effect on January 1, 2024, and will be mandatory for "new players" seeking to provide any regulated service. The changes will also allow for a fast-track procedure to authorize companies already operating in the country with approval.
The AMF said DASPs that obtained simple registration before 1 January 2024 benefited from the "grandfather" clause and continued to abide by the framework applicable before that date.
The AMF recently issued the first crypto license to Société Générale’s crypto arm. Firms such as Binance and Hex Trust have registered with the regulator. (CoinDesk)
