FTX moved about $7.7 billion in assets from the Bahamas to the U.S. before filing for bankruptcy last year

Bahamas court-appointed joint provisional liquidators said FTX moved $7.7 billion in assets from the Bahamas to the United States before filing for bankruptcy last year, CoinDesk reported. Of that amount, $5.6 billion was transferred from escrow accounts of Bahamian subsidiary FTX Digital to U.S. entity FTX Trading, and another $2.1 billion was transferred to FTX Alameda Research, “the Bahamas has about $3 million in other tangible assets, primarily related to employee-owned assets in the Bahamas. Office furniture, equipment and fleet related." An FTX representative said it remains an open question whether the assets are Bahamian or U.S. assets.
