According to CNBC, at least one person was killed and six others were injured in a shooting at an apartment building in downtown Minneapolis on Wednesday. The Minneapolis Police Department said two officers were among those wounded and told the public to stay away from the area. Hennepin County Medical Center said it received seven patients, including one who died, while no further details were immediately released on the condition of the others.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz said state officials were on the ground helping local law enforcement respond to the shooting. FBI Director Kash Patel said the bureau was responding and would provide any resources needed to assist local authorities. Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth said she was praying for the victims of what she called a heinous crime.
