Liquid Capital founder Yi Lihua said on X that investing should not be spread evenly across many assets, but should focus on a small number of standout companies that can generate outsized returns. According to Odaily, he cited Duan Yongping’s 2002 investment in NetEase, saying Duan invested $2 million when the stock traded below $1 and later made more than $260 million after holding it for eight years.
Yi said each technological revolution creates many opportunities for excess returns. According to Odaily, he added that the early crypto industry produced many 100x cases through holdings in BTC and investments in quality projects, while the AI sector is now at a similar early-stage breakout phase. He said the current goal of investing in AI is to identify the most explosive companies in the wave.
