According to Jin10, the amount of time U.S. ultra-long Treasury yields have stayed elevated has reached its longest stretch since 2006, with investors expected to remain cautious in the coming weeks amid a large fiscal deficit, another wave of corporate bond issuance, and a potentially decisive Federal Reserve meeting. The U.S. 30-year Treasury yield briefly rose to 5.34% in mid-August, its highest level since 2007 and just 10 basis points below a 22-year high. As of Monday, the 30-year yield had closed above 5% for 55 days this year, the most since 2006, and it was quoted at 5.27% on Tuesday.
