On May 6, Wang Yi, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister, held talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Araqchi in Beijing. Araqchi briefed Wang on the latest developments in the Iran-US negotiations and Iran's next steps, stating that facts have proven that the political crisis cannot be resolved through military means. Iran will resolutely safeguard its national sovereignty and dignity, while continuously building consensus through peaceful negotiations to seek a comprehensive and permanent solution. The issue of opening the Strait of Hormuz can be resolved as soon as possible. Iran highly appreciates and agrees with President Xi Jinping's four-point proposal on maintaining and promoting regional peace and stability, and appreciates China's consistent stance on the right side of history and its unremitting efforts to prevent the situation from deteriorating and spilling over. Iran trusts China, expects China to continue playing a positive role in promoting peace and ending conflict, and supports the establishment of a new post-war regional architecture that can coordinate development and security.
