Ledger, a manufacturer of cryptocurrency hardware wallets, has released its 2026 AI security roadmap aimed at the AI agent economy, focusing on maintaining human control. According to Odaily, the company has appointed Chief Experience Officer Ian Rogers as the first Chief Human Intelligence Officer to lead the implementation of the AI security strategy.
The roadmap is divided into four phases: an open hardware integration toolkit is already available; in Q2, AI agent hardware-bound identity will be introduced; Q3 will see the launch of agent intentions and strategies, supporting hardware-trusted approvals; and Q4 will add a 'proof of humanity' feature. Ledger emphasizes the use of hardware security roots to provide a final confirmation layer for AI agent transactions, mitigating asset and identity risks, and aiding developers in building secure agent payment infrastructures.
