The UK has announced sanctions against Xinbi, an illicit cryptocurrency trading platform, and launched operations against several individuals and entities in an effort to combat large-scale fraud and related human rights issues in Southeast Asia. The measures were jointly announced by the UK Foreign Office and the Home Office. Officials stated that Xinbi provided cryptocurrency payment and related services to fraud networks, including the sale of stolen personal data and communication tools (such as satellite internet equipment). Data from blockchain analytics firm Chainalysis shows that between 2021 and 2025, the platform processed over $19.9 billion in transactions, involving money laundering and illegal over-the-counter trading. The sanctions also cover Legend Innovation Co., the operator of the Cambodian fraud park "#8 Park," and its executives, and implicate individuals associated with the Prince Group financial network. The UK had previously joined the US in imposing sanctions on this network, freezing and seizing over £1 billion in assets. (The Block)
