El Salvador officially launched its "Bitcoin Diploma 2.0" education program on February 24, 2026, upgrading its national financial literacy curriculum. Led by the National Bitcoin Office (ONBTC), the project distributes new textbooks to public schools nationwide and integrates Bitcoin-related content into the sociology and mathematics curriculum. The report states that the new curriculum covers topics such as the Lightning Network, monetary history, the central banking system, and free market economics, using visual aids and case studies to explain concepts like hash rate, difficulty adjustment, and the UTXO model. The education department stated that approximately three hours of related classes will be scheduled each week. Furthermore, this program is being implemented concurrently with plans to deploy AI teaching tools in approximately 5,000 schools. The report notes that this educational project launch comes as the Salvadoran government continues to advance its Bitcoin reserve strategy. (FinanceFeeds)
