Bitcoin payments startup ZBD announced the completion of a $40 million Series C funding round, led by Blockstream Capital with a $36 million investment. The company's primary business is providing Bitcoin payment software and infrastructure for video games. ZBD stated that the funds will be used to launch a more comprehensive suite of payment products over the next year. Its payment technology allows developers to integrate the Bitcoin Lightning Network into games, enabling players to make direct micropayments or earn rewards. CEO Simon Cowell stated that the solution aims to provide the gaming industry with a payment tool that allows for direct financial relationships with players. By 2025, ZBD has already provided services to 55 games.
