According to PANews, futures for the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100 indices have surged following reports of Ukraine agreeing to a peace deal. An American official disclosed on Tuesday that the Ukrainian delegation has reached an agreement with the United States on the terms of a potential peace accord. The official stated that U.S. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll held secret talks with the Russian delegation in Abu Dhabi, UAE, on Monday, following weekend discussions in Geneva with Ukraine, aimed at advancing the peace process. The official remarked, "The Ukrainians have agreed to the peace deal, with only minor details remaining to be resolved, but they have agreed to the peace agreement." Additionally, the official noted that the 19-point Ukrainian peace plan no longer includes an amnesty clause.
