Nick Timiraos, known as the 'Fed's Mouthpiece,' reported that four voting regional Federal Reserve Bank presidents—Collins from Boston, Mussa from St. Louis, Goolsbee from Chicago, and Schmid from Kansas City, who opposed the rate cut decision in October—are not advocating for another rate cut in December. It is important to note that the Federal Reserve rotates four regional banks as voting members of the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) each year. Starting next year, these four officials will lose their voting rights on the FOMC. The New York Federal Reserve holds a unique position with permanent voting rights.
