Google's Quantum Chip Achieves Milestone in Quantum Chaos Simulation

According to PANews, Google has announced a significant achievement with its Willow quantum chip, which completed a quantum chaos simulation in approximately two hours. This task would have taken considerably longer on a classical supercomputer, according to research comparisons. The results were validated using out-of-time-order correlators (OTOCs), and researchers suggest this advancement could enhance practical applications of quantum computing, such as Hamiltonian learning. Industry experts, however, believe it is too early to assess the impact on the cryptographic foundations of Bitcoin. Kostas Kryptos Chalkias, co-founder of Mysten Labs, stated that it might take at least another decade to see such effects.
