Mediterranean Shipping Company is set to introduce a new service linking Europe with isolated Middle Eastern ports through land transport across Saudi Arabia and small vessels within the Persian Gulf. According to Odaily, the service will commence on May 10 from Antwerp, with stops in Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Spain, Jeddah, and King Abdullah Port. From there, cargo will be transported by truck to Dammam. From Dammam, feeder vessels will connect to maritime gateways in Abu Dhabi, Dubai's Jebel Ali, as well as Bahrain, Iraq, and Kuwait.
