Truth Social Premium Users Can Earn Truth Gems That Convert to Cryptocurrency
Truth Social has rolled out a new digital rewards program aimed at premium subscribers of its Patriot Package.
The feature, called “Truth gems,” allows users to earn tokens by engaging with content across the platform and its streaming service, Truth+.
These gems can then be converted into Cronos (CRO) cryptocurrency using Crypto.com’s wallet infrastructure, marking a notable expansion of the platform’s digital offerings.
Trump Media Leverages Crypto Partnerships for Rewards
The update represents a shift from earlier plans to launch a proprietary utility token for the Truth+ ecosystem.
In April, CEO Devin Nunes highlighted the possibility of introducing a token within a Truth digital wallet to cover subscription costs and participate in rewards programs.
Despite circulating rumours in May about a Truth Social memecoin, Donald Trump Jr. confirmed there were no plans to launch one, stating there was “no truth” to the claims.
Integration Linked to Broader Digital Asset Strategy
This move comes alongside Trump Media’s wider crypto initiatives.
Earlier in 2025, the company partnered with Crypto.com to launch exchange-traded funds (ETFs) focused on Bitcoin and Ethereum with a “Made in America” emphasis.
The ETFs, expected to go live later in 2025 subject to regulatory approval, will be available through Truth.Fi and Crypto.com’s broker-dealer, Foris Capital.
Additionally, Trump Media has entered an agreement to acquire 684.4 million CRO tokens valued at roughly $105 million, forming part of a $6.4 billion digital-asset treasury strategy.
These tokens, held under Crypto.com’s institutional custody, could potentially be staked to generate further yield, adding a financial dimension to the platform’s rewards ecosystem.
Users’ Engagement Now Tied to Real-World Crypto Value
With Truth gems convertible into CRO, users can now translate activity on the platform into tangible digital assets.
This positions Truth Social alongside a growing number of social media platforms experimenting with cryptocurrency rewards, signalling a broader trend of merging online engagement with financial incentives.
Can Truth Social Sustain Its Crypto Ecosystem
Coinlive notes that while integrating CRO and offering digital rewards may boost engagement, questions remain about the long-term sustainability of the system.
The reliance on a third-party token rather than a proprietary currency limits flexibility, and the success of the program depends on sustained user interest in both the Patriot Package and the broader Truth+ ecosystem.
With $105 million in tokens already earmarked, the company is betting heavily on crypto adoption among its user base, but execution risks and regulatory hurdles could challenge the strategy.
This approach raises the question: can digital rewards alone maintain platform loyalty in a crowded social media market?
