Ripple Joins Forces With Web3 Salon To Back XRPL Startups In Japan
Ripple is expanding its footprint in Asia’s Web3 scene through a new partnership with Web3 Salon, a programme supported by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) and driven by the Asia Web3 Alliance Japan.
The collaboration centres around funding and mentoring Japanese startups building real-world use cases on the XRP Ledger (XRPL).
Up To $200,000 In Grants For XRPL Builders
As part of its Japan and Korea Fund and the broader 1 billion XRP commitment, Ripple will offer financial grants of up to $200,000 per project.
The initiative targets early-stage firms in Japan working on decentralised finance (DeFi), tokenised real-world assets (RWA), and digital payment solutions.
Ripple said startups will be evaluated on their growth potential, technical strength, and alignment with its strategic investment priorities.
Alongside financial support, recipients will gain access to Ripple’s global network of partners, investors, and in-house experts to help scale their ventures.
Web3 Salon To Guide Startups Through Japan’s Complex Market
While Ripple provides capital and ecosystem connections, Web3 Salon will lead on founder development.
Its support includes regulatory guidance, mentorship, investor introductions, and business strategy.
The aim is to help startups navigate Japan’s rigorous compliance environment while accelerating product development and market entry.
Hinza Asif, President of Asia Web3 Alliance Japan, said,
“Through this partnership with Ripple, we aim to support visionary founders and strengthen the bridge between global innovation and Japan’s tech landscape.”
Four Events Planned To Fuel XRPL Innovation In Japan
Ripple and Web3 Salon have also mapped out a series of four major events across Japan through March 2026.
These gatherings will combine startup pitch competitions, policy discussions, and investor networking, all designed to bring together innovators, regulators, and industry leaders.
The events are part of Ripple’s wider strategy to increase XRPL adoption and engagement in Asia.
Community member WrathofKahneman noted that the initiative fits into Ripple’s long-term ambitions in the region, calling attention to its deeper focus on Japan.
Japan’s XRP Momentum Builds Ahead Of 2025 Deadline
The move comes at a time of rising momentum for XRP in Japan.
Earlier this year, the Bank of Japan confirmed that all domestic banks will integrate XRP for payments by the end of 2025.
Meanwhile, major companies like Mercari have rolled out XRP trading through their Mercoin crypto exchange, and Ripple continues discussions on launching a stablecoin in the country.
Ripple’s commitment to Japan also reflects its response to ongoing criticism over XRPL project quality.
CTO David Schwartz recently said the company is focused on supporting high-impact financial solutions.
Last month, Dubai’s Land Department began using XRPL for real estate tokenisation, while new stablecoin projects have also joined the network.
Christina Chan, RippleX Senior Director of Developer Growth, said,
“Ripple is proud to collaborate with Web3 Salon to unlock new opportunities in Japan’s thriving startup ecosystem. Together, we hope to fuel innovation and support the next generation of leaders.”
