On the afternoon of 26 November 2025, a level-five fire broke out at Kwong Fuk Estate in Tai Po, New Territories, Hong Kong, causing serious casualties and significant property damage. The disaster deeply moved people across Hong Kong and the global Chinese community, prompting rapid mobilization from all sectors of society to support affected residents through donations, supplies, and volunteer services.
Against this backdrop, on 28 November 2025, the AB Charity Foundation donated HKD 10 million, followed by an additional HKD 2 million on 1 December 2025. In total, the Foundation has contributed HKD 12 million through the Hong Kong Association for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China to support emergency relief and post-disaster community rebuilding efforts related to the Kwong Fuk Estate fire.
To date, the AB Charity Foundation has allocated a cumulative total of HKD 12 million for projects responding to the Kwong Fuk Estate fire via the Hong Kong Association for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China. The Foundation hopes that, together with the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and all sectors of society, these efforts will help affected residents return to normal life as soon as possible, while continuing to embody the solidarity and mutual support represented by Hong Kong’s “Lion Rock Spirit.”
Looking ahead, the AB Charity Foundation will continue to provide support and make further donations as needed, based on the evolving situation on the ground.
