Binance Pay Enables Instant Crypto Payments for Argentinians in Brazil
Binance Blog published a new article, introducing Binance's latest integration with Brazil's Pix payment system, aimed at facilitating seamless transactions for Argentinians traveling to Brazil. This development allows users to make instant payments in Brazilian reais directly from their crypto balances, enhancing the ease of cross-border financial transactions.
Binance Pay's integration with Pix, Brazil's national instant-payment network, marks a significant advancement in real-world crypto adoption. Millions of Argentinians visit Brazil annually for various purposes, including work, tourism, and family travel. With this new feature, they can now effortlessly use Binance Pay to send funds or complete merchant payments in Brazilian reais, eliminating the complexities often associated with traditional financial systems.
The process is straightforward: users select Binance Pay, choose Pix, and pick the cryptocurrency they wish to spend. The amount is instantly converted into Brazilian reais, settling payments in seconds. This integration connects users to any Pix-enabled merchant and bank account in Brazil, facilitating transactions with millions of individuals and businesses daily. Over 100 cryptocurrencies are supported, with conversions handled automatically at market exchange rates, removing the need for manual swaps or cash.
Guilherme Nazar, Binance’s Regional Vice President for Latin America, emphasized the importance of this milestone, highlighting the synergy between Brazil's instant payment system and Binance's global reach. Pix, launched by the Central Bank in 2020, has rapidly become integral to daily life in Brazil, surpassing debit card and cash usage. With more than 162 million Brazilians and over 16 million merchants using Pix, the system processes about 6 billion transactions monthly.
This update addresses a real need for Argentinians traveling to Brazil, who previously relied on cash exchanges or foreign-issued cards. Andrés Ondarra, General Manager of Binance for Argentina and the Southern Cone, noted that paying with cryptocurrencies across borders represents a leap toward financial freedom, offering speed, security, and flexibility without fees or complications.
