Unicaja, one of the five largest banks in Spain, said its venture capital arm has invested in cryptocurrency exchange Bit2Me. The startup has more than 1 million customers and is the first cryptocurrency service provider to obtain a registration from a Spanish bank. The terms of the transaction have not yet been announced, but the bank will hold more than 5% of the exchange and join its board of directors. In addition, the two companies have signed a commercial cooperation agreement. Unicaja CEO Isidro Rubiales said the deal will help Unicaja Bank "anticipate the future and adopt solutions that will enhance our services and facilitate our adaptation to changes in customer requirements."
