Ethereum Naming Service ENS Files Lawsuit Against GoDaddy, Accusing It of Misdeclaring eth.link Expired and Selling It to Third Parties

True Names Ltd, the company behind Ethereum Name Service (ENS), has filed a lawsuit against GoDaddy and others, accusing GoDaddy of falsely declaring the eth.link domain name expired and selling it to third parties, The Block reports. The lawsuit has been filed in the U.S. District Court for the State of Arizona. GoDaddy sold the eth.link domain name to Dynadot on Sept. 3, and Dynadot resold the domain name to cryptocurrency project Manifold Finance for $852,000 in a subsequent auction. ENS DAO stated in August that the eth.link domain name is currently expired and cannot be accessed because the domain name is owned by jailed Ethereum developer Virgil Griffith, so it cannot gain access to his account. Since losing access to the eth.link domain, True Names started using eth.limo as a new web gateway for the ENS domain.
