Osmosis, a Cosmos-based decentralized exchange, announced a major update of its token economic model OSMO 2.0. After community governance votes, the platform reduced its inflation rate by 50%. After the reduction, OSMO's inflation rate was about 11%. The team at Osmosis says it is exploring introducing a protocol revenue burn mechanism to further offset residual inflation, resulting in a net deflationary model. Additionally, Osmosis governance is now discussing the implementation of liquidity pool fee switching. This feature allows OSMO stakers to directly share transaction fees generated from activity in the Osmosis liquidity pool.
