Odaily Planet Daily News Coinbase Chief Legal Officer Paul Grewal criticized the U.S. Treasury Department for trying to circumvent the legal ruling on Tornado Cash by removing Tornado Cash from its global blacklist. He warned that without a final judgment from the court, there is no guarantee that Tornado Cash will not be sanctioned again in the future. It is reported that the U.S. Treasury Department blacklisted Tornado Cash in 2022 because of its suspected involvement in money laundering of $445 million stolen by the Lazarus cybercrime group, but the appeals court ruled that blacklisting certain smart contracts was unconstitutional. Odaily Planet Daily News Bernstein analysts said that as exchanges and broker/dealer models begin to merge, the crypto industry is moving towards a more integrated "one-stop" multi-asset investment platform, such as Coinbase is in deep negotiations to acquire Deribit, Kraken is about to acquire NinjaTrader, and Robinhood is integrating Bitstamp. Analysts said that Deribit's BTC and ETH options market has a monthly trading volume of more than $100 billion, accounting for about 70% of the market share, and the monthly trading volume of cryptocurrency futures is about $45 billion. Coinbase's acquisition of Deribit will enable it to expand into the field of derivatives, especially options, and will compete with Binance in the international crypto derivatives market. (The Block)
