RSM Chief Economist: Strait of Hormuz Reopening Encouraging Amid Energy Supply Concerns

RSM America's Chief Economist, Joseph Brusuelas, has commented on the recent reopening of the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping. According to Jin10, Brusuelas described the move as both encouraging and timely, given the current energy supply shortages in Asia and the impending supply issues in Europe. He noted that in the short term, there will be some relief in crude oil and gasoline prices. However, he cautioned against expecting a rapid return to pre-conflict levels, as the damage to production and refining capacities in the Persian Gulf may take months or even years to repair.
